Each year, on the third weekend of February, Ashton is transformed into a world of howling dogs, curious spectators, and anxious racers. Dating back to 1917, the American Dog Derby is the oldest sled dog race in American still being held. What makes it unique is the “carnival-like” atmosphere that prevails during the race. The derby attracts hundreds of spectators and mushers to the Ashton area. The great tradition is made possible by the generous donations received from our supporters.
The organizers of the derby have put together an attractive advertising program that allows businesses and organizations to support the derby while receiving ample recognition for their donations. There are various giving levels that range from business advertising to individual levels.
