Jerry Bath surpasses Tud Kent's 6 wins!

Jerry Bath surpassed Tud Kent's record, becoming the new title holder for the American Dog Derby.  Tud held that record for 87 years.  He won six races between 1917 and 1926.  Jerry has won his race, seven of the last seven years!

Hailing from Lander, WY Jerry has been racing for 14 years.  He has become a "regular' at the Derby and is a strong support of the race.  At the awards ceremony, he made an impassioned pleas to his fellow musher, spectaors, sponsor, and Derby planners to continue to support and grow the Derby.  Ensuring that this great Idaho Tradition is held and celebrated in its Centenical year (2017).

In recognition of the momentous event, Ted Stonks - Ashton Mayor brought the Ambassador's Cup to the Derby, so Jerry could be ceremonially award the cup.  The cup resides in the Ashton City Hall and hasn't made an appearance at the races in many years.  Jerry's name plate will be added to the cup.

Congratulations Jerry!!! An THANK YOU for supporting the American Dog Derby!  We hope to see you again next year!
